Language training is a critical component to Southeast Asian Studies. As such, UCR offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in Vietnamese and Tagalog through the Department of Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages. Individual faculty members may also offer language training in Indonesian. Thai and Khmer are offered at neighboring institutions in Southern California (UCLA and Cal State Fullerton respectively).
